The kanji 恥 means shame, dishonor. Its on’yomi (Chinese-derived reading) is チ (chi); its kun’yomi (native Japanese reading) is は.じる、はじ、は.じらう、は.ずかしい (hajiru, haji, hajirau, hazukashii). It is written with 10 strokes, under radical 心 (no. 61).
