The kanji 強 means strong. Its on’yomi (Chinese-derived reading) is キョウ、ゴウ (kyou, gou); its kun’yomi (native Japanese reading) is つよ.い、つよ.まる、つよ.める、し.いる、こわ.い (tsuyoi, tsuyomaru, tsuyomeru, shiiru, kowai). It is written with 11 strokes, under radical 弓 (no. 57).
